Welcome to Online Collaboration!
Online collaboration replaces dependency on face to face meetings to plan and execute the work of ministry in our congregation. Even though these teams or groups meet occasionally for relationship building and brainstorming, much of the planning, discussions, communication and management can happen by using the internet.
In online collaboration, groups can track their discussions and work and build on each other’s ideas. And they can do so without struggling to find a place and a time to meet!
At Peace we use Google Groups as the means to conduct our online collaboration.
All our groups are open to anyone expressing interest in the ministry. Some groups are restricted from general access, but anyone can join by requesting an invitation.
To join one of the groups, just click on the group and follow the directions.
Important point #1: You must create a Google Account with your email address to have full access to the group.
Important point #2: The best way to participate in the Google Group is not by replying to emails from the group, but by logging into the Google Group Web Interface. Go to Google.com, click "more", click "groups" (of course, you will need to sign into Google with your username or email and password). In the Google Group you can reply to discussion threads or edit pages. (You can also make your Google Group a favorite or bookmark in your browser)
To the right are some helpful videos. We recommend that you watch the video on "Collaboration: A New Way of Working Together" and "Google Groups and Online Collaboration". We also have training videos on how to use different features of Google Groups.
